About Rebeca Scherman, PsyD

 Dr. Rebeca Scherman is a Clinical Psychologist with a private practice in New York City. She has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families on a wide range of topics including anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, compulsive, self-destructive behaviors, relationship issues, and career/work difficulties. Dr. Scherman's diverse client base ranges from teens through late adulthood and those of multi-cultural backgrounds.  


Dr. Scherman has been in practice since 1999. She has earned an esteemed reputation for her effective intervention skills, balanced with sensitivity and compassion, in order to find solutions to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues.  


Dr. Scherman earned her doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She completed a Post-doctoral Fellowship at Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where she worked with significantly traumatized and dissociative individuals. She is currently the Component Groups Liaison and committee member for the Professional Development Committee for the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.  


Dr. Scherman is privileged to work with people who have the courage to search for a better way to live their lives and help them experience positive change. She firmly believes that improving the quality of life is an important and worthwhile endeavor.
